Weekly Photo Challenge: Sea

by theadventuresofbeka

I grew up seaside.
When I grew up enough to leave home,
I moved inward.
To a landlocked place
With hot, stuffy, still air.
Long weekends were spent in the car,
Driving home.
Sundays were full.
Salty air, gritty sand, and sunkissed skin.

I traveled farther.
4,000 miles.
I sought the sea.
A different people,
A different language,
Yet the restless peace of the waves was the same.
El Mar Cantábrico or the Gulf of Mexico.
I belong.
