I never understood the obsession with fall until now.
So. Many. Colors.
That is a gorgeous photo!
Living in Southern CA, I never really see the stereotypical autumn colour changes, unless I happen to be in the mountains. However, I have always loved the way the night air seems to be crackling with a magical intensity. I know that it is static electricity generated by the horribly hot, dusty wind storms that occur in the area; yet, to my overflowing imagination it was always an adventure to be out in a fall night, as if I would find a magical wardrobe that could transport me to another land.
Growing up in FL, I never understood the obsession. It gets cool for about two weeks in late November, and then it gets dry and chilly. Here in Georgia, the leaves change, and the weather is genuinely beautiful (and has been for a few weeks)!
Static electricity (especially when combined with heat lightning) is definitely magical.
